Complete rebrand of the helping hand in e-commerce

The assignment

For Duxly (formerly Online Distributeur) it was time to take the brand seriously. A new name. A real brand. A recognizable visual identity. The right look. Complete rebrand.

The name

The old name was a struggle for the sales team to pronounce. And difficult to type for everyone else. Neither did it accurately describe their services. In an extensive name generation process we went from a long list of 140 names, to a selection of 30. Pushed through a few filters of availability and legal matters it produced a shortlist of 5 names. Our client then chose Duxly. Established, but friendly. We have added the description 'your e-com partner' to indicate their field and their relation to their potential customers.

The Wordmark

Robust, expressive and approachable.

The typography is inspired by a modern iteration of a hundred-year-old typeface. This makes the wordmark feel familiar, trusted and established.

We chose not to capitalise the brand name, to create familiarity and accessibility. The weight brings some gravitas to make this a brand that stands firmly on its feet and should be taken seriously. The weight is nuanced by the angled ascenders that seem to lift the wordmark upward.

The characters are in a compact lock-up, giving the entire wordmark a solid shape that works at all scales.

Identity
We had illustrations made to give the brand extra personality. Combined with the right copy the illustrations come to life.

The tone-of-voice of the copy positions Duxly squarely as the right-hand man of the customer. It seems to know exactly what the reader is thinking, and answers questions before they even arise. A true guide at your side.
